Going Green

Being an environmentally responsible company is an essential part of Bana's culture. We champion ongoing environmental advances at our facilities and with our suppliers, and promote sustainable practices in our home communities.

Since Bana's inception, the company has offered cost-effective and environmentally friendly recycled paperboard.  More than 75% of our products are made from recycled materials.  These recycled materials primarily consist of post-consumer material, which is material discarded after consumer use that has been separated from solid waste to be recycled into new paper.  Recycled paperboard is one of the best options for an environmentally friendly minded business or organization to use.  In addition, all of our paperboard is 100% recyclable.

In Our Facilities: We have numerous in-plant recycling initiatives, including:
• Paperboard waste generated during the printing process as well as office paper
• Wood products, such as pallets and off-cuts
• Metal, including all aluminum plating materials and metal straps
• Liquid wastes such as oil

Unlike many other paper box manufacturing companies, we separate our scrap paper into several different categories before it gets picked up.  This greatly reduces natural resources used in milling virgin paper.  The paper waste we recycle saves thousands of trees each year.

With Our Suppliers: We require our raw materials vendors to adhere to the highest standards of environmental citizenship and sustainability in the industry. Sustainability as it relates to our vendors simply means "meeting the needs of society today without jeopardizing our ability to do so in the future." Our vendors are required to stretch paper recovery goals, improve efficiency in water and energy use, and reduce greenhouse gases. We are also committed to sustainable forestry to help ensure there are forests for the future.
